The rural villages of Picklescott, Smethcott, Betchcott and Woolstaston are situated in the Northern foothills of the Long Mynd within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Behind the village of Smethcott you will find the Church of St Michael’s & All Angel’s which has stood on the present site since the 12th Century.

The church was largely rebuilt in 1850 by a local workman. but several clues can be found to the earlier church, especially the ancient font, carved from one piece of stone.
