THIS SCHEME MAY RUN OUT IN MARCH 2026 IF WE DO NOTHING!

The Listed Places of Worship Grants Scheme is a lifeline for historic churches – saving them 20 per cent on repair costs. But the future of the scheme is uncertain – and churches, chapels and cathedrals across the country have urgent needs such as leaking roofs and crumbling towers. Heritage and church buildings across the country are at risk of disrepair and closure. 

The Department of Culture, Media and Sport have now been given their budget for the next few years. It is now up to them to decide if they will fund the scheme.

  • MAP. Now we have so many churches, it's getting harder to find a specific church. To make it easier, a map has been added. Find it under Our Churches in the top menu. It's meant to give a general idea, so check with your Satnav or Google. The postcode for each church is in the booklet and on the website.

  • Does your church have a choir? Look at this:
  • THE OUSELEY CHURCH MUSIC TRUST – grants, generally for of up to £5,000, are available to Choral Foundations, Choirs, Parish Churches, Cathedrals, Colleges and Schools in England, Wales and Ireland for the maintenance, performance and promotion of choral services in England, Wales and Ireland. The application deadlines for 2026 are on Saturday 28th February and Tuesday 30th June.
